A receiver can make it easier to use a garage door with an electric drive. In conjunction with a transmitter, it picks up radio signals and activates the door drive. Hörmann offers an attractive solution in this area with the 1-channel receiver HEI 1, 868 MHz. Unlike its predecessor model, the HEI 1 is set to the frequency 868 MHz. This is less susceptible to interference than the older frequency 40.685. External influences such as concrete, power lines or transmission masts only marginally affect the signal. In order for the receiver to respond to the transmitter's signal, both must be taught in to each other. To do this, the receiver is first activated. If its LED lights up, the transmitter is switched on with the corresponding function. The transmitter's range is around 30 m. If it transmits a signal to the receiver, a pulse is triggered. This activates the motor of the door drive and opens or closes the door. The receiver is connected to the motor drive via a 7 m long connecting cable with 3 wires. Its operating voltage is 24 V direct current.
