The Hörmann 3-channel receiver HEI 3 868 MHz BiSecur (868-BS) is suitable as a receiver for controlling a driveway gate operator or a garage door operator. It uses the 868 MHz frequency and the BiSecur encryption developed by Hörmann. It can be used to transmit commands to the gate from a distance. These commands include, for example, opening and closing the gate when driving in by car or a pedestrian wing function for swing gate operators. With its 3 channels, up to three functions can be operated on one operator. Older Hörmann operators can also be converted to the 868 MHz BiSecur radio standard.

The HEI 868-BS has a stable range and can ensure reliable reception in difficult structural conditions. The receiver is housed in an aluminum housing with plastic caps and meets the requirements for protection class IP 65. The device is therefore safe to touch, dustproof and protected against water jets. It can also withstand temperatures from -20 °C in winter to +60 °C in summer. The HEI 3 868-BS is therefore ideal for outdoor installation. With a size of 140 mm x 30 mm x 32 mm (W x H x D) and an operating voltage of 24 V DC (direct current), the receiver has a 7 m long, 4-core connection cable.

The HEI 3 868-BS can only be used with Hörmann drives and can only be operated with suitable Hörmann transmitters. Depending on the design and technical capabilities of the electric drive, up to three functions can be used via pulse control. The standard function is opening and closing via radio pulse. Depending on the model, the function of controlling the drive lighting or the function of partial opening/pasional leaf control can also be added.

The Hörmann 3-channel receiver HEI 3 868-BS is used for radio control using a hand-held transmitter. The transmitters, like the receiver, must have the 868 MHz BiSecur radio standard.

Operate Hörmann drives with the HEI 3 868-BS

With the HEI 3 868-BS, almost all older Hörmann drives can be retrofitted with secure BiSecur encryption. However, querying the door position as with the current drives is not possible. This would only be possible with a Hörmann 2-channel relay receiver HET-E2, BiSecur, bidirectional and simultaneous use of a Hörmann universal adapter board UAP 1 and only with suitable drives.
