Garage door remote control Novotron 522 with 2 buttons
The Novotron 522 handheld transmitter is one of the most modern garage door remote controls from Novoferm-Tormatic. Its elongated design with two black buttons is particularly user-friendly. Thanks to the discreet eyelet in the black plastic frame, the Novotron 522 garage door handle can be attached to your key ring using the included lanyard and is therefore always within reach. We supply this garage door handheld transmitter with the appropriate battery and instructions so that the garage door handle is ready for use on your door immediately after programming. The radio signal for communication between the door motor and the handheld transmitter is sent by the Novotron 522 on a radio frequency of 433 MHz. Whether this signal is protected with the classic Keeloq alternating code or the modern AES 128BIt encryption can be set directly on the handheld transmitter and depends on your door drive or radio receiver.
However, it should be noted that the handheld transmitter and the electric drive can only communicate with each other if the radio frequency and encryption method exactly match. This means that if your garage door operator works with the older Keeloq method, the Novotron 522 must also be switched before programming is possible, as the Novotron 522 is preset to the AES 128 bit method at the factory. In addition, the LED on the handheld transmitter can also be used to see which encryption is set. If the Novotron LED flashes every time a button is pressed, this means that the AES 128 bit method is set. If the handheld transmitter uses the classic Keeloq coding, the LED simply lights up briefly every time a button is pressed. This practical option to switch between Keeloq and AES is a great advantage, as you can use the modern Novotron 522 handheld transmitter as a replacement for many older handheld transmitter models, such as the classic Novotron 502 with a blue and silver housing.
The Novotron 522 has two buttons that control the two radio channels of the remote control. The The term 2-channel handheld transmitter means nothing other than a handheld transmitter with 2 buttons that can control 2 different gates or functions. For example, the Novotron 502 could be programmed so that the upper button opens and closes the gate and the lower button switches the drive light on and off individually. Which functions can be controlled and programmed on your gate depends on the model and age of your drive and can be found in the operating instructions for your gate drive.

Novotron 522 coding from AES 128 bit to Keeloq
The Novotron 522 handheld transmitter from Novoferm Tormatic can also be used as a practical replacement remote control for many older gate operators thanks to its adjustable coding process. The radio frequency of 433 MHz has remained unchanged for many years and only the type of encryption has changed in the newer operators from around May 1st 2015 onwards to the more secure AES 128 bit process. As the Novotron 522 can be set to either the older Keeloq rolling code or the newer AES process, the handheld transmitter is also backwards compatible with older models. The Novotron 522 is delivered from the factory pre-set with the AES 128 bit process. This can also be recognized by the flashing LED every time a button is pressed. If you now want to use the Novotron 522 for an operator with Keeloq, press all handheld transmitter buttons simultaneously for around 5 seconds. The LED will then only light up once each time the button is pressed, indicating that the Keeloq procedure has been successfully set up.
